BLM – SCI-Hellas is a project running from September 1, 2020 until December 12, 2020. that celebrates life, diversity in sports and solidarity. Black athletes who have grown up in Greece and found a place in a professional football team are a rarity. Many refugee/migrants’ football teams (every refugee and migrant community has its own informal fc) regularly play football supported by coaches from the community free of charge. Such teams simply cannot participate in any league or championship due to shortage of money for membership or coverage of the relevant costs. So, there is almost no opportunity for those players, however good they might be, to become visible.

For the last two years SCI-Hellas has supported the UMOJA-ENOSI FC, who participate in the local amateur’s championship (anexartito.gr). All the players are refugees, migrants or 2^nd generation and draw their origin from ten different countries of Africa. Among them are football players active in their homelands, others aim to play football professionally and all of them are highly motivated to become socially included into the Greek society.

BLM – SCI-Hellas is looking to make them visible by campaigning on football as a uniting factor. Our motto “Football Unites” aims to promote the importance of the capacity of the people as individuals and not based on their color.

A group of young refugees who have studied media are to work on the content and maintain it online. Professional Greek journalists are to support them and act as mentors. Our cooperation with the football teams of various refugee Communities and non-formal FCs.
